and let's be honest this is not the first time nor the last it shut down several times in the 70s-80s most every person I personally know who works for the government got advance pay the night before the shutdown so I'm not as worried as I probably should be for the employees it's not as if it's sudden we've known it was impending for weeks even months and we haven't respected the government since the pentagon papers
